Welcome to Ahava Beauty Studio. My name is Alisha, I graduated from International Beauty Academy in 2003 and started my own business in 2005 . In 2004, I began a partnership with Redken, becoming a Redken colorist and educator. I continue to maintain my Level III Redken Colorist certification as well as specializing in color corrections, waxing, and curly hair. Curly hair is part of the reason I became a stylist. I struggled with my own hair. Stylists would style my hair, but they didn’t take the time to show me how to work with my hair or the new cut. I thought, “If I ever become a stylist, I’m going to teach people how to get the same results.” That way, they can be happy with their hair every day, not just one day. I love building people’s confidence and helping them feel good about themselves. It’s one of the reasons I enjoy volunteering at a local memory care facility and at a women’s shelter. My clients are temporarily transported beyond their worry, and I know I’ve helped just a little. To keep my skills fresh and styles current, I attend Redken classes; go to expos and hair shows; view awards shows and social media sites, and pay attention to trends. There’s inspiration everywhere! I feel blessed to be in this business because it doesn’t feel like work.
